Proposed Merger of Kingfisher Berkley & Modality Darlaston Practices

We are excited to share with you a significant development that we believe will enhance the quality and sustainability of the care we provide. The Kingfisher Berkley Practice and Modality Darlaston are proposing to merge and operate as one unified practice.

We are proposing to bring our Kingfisher Berkley and Darlaston practices together to operate as a single, unified practice. However, we want to reassure all patients that both practice sites will remain open and accessible as usual – there will be no site closures.

Services will continue to be provided at both locations just as they are now. This proposal is aimed at strengthening the long-term sustainability of the practices, ensuring we can continue to deliver high-quality care for our patients at both sites for years to come. Please be assured that your access to care at your preferred location will not change.

This proposed merger is driven by our commitment to provide you with improved services and ensure the long-term resilience of your healthcare team. Like many healthcare providers, we face challenges such as increased demand, staff retirements, and recruitment difficulties. Bringing these practices together is a proactive step to address these challenges while continuing to provide you with the high-quality care you deserve.

What This Means for You as a Patient

If the merger proceeds, you can expect:

  • Increased Access: More opportunities to see your preferred GP or healthcare professional, alongside enhanced access to specialist support like physiotherapists, pharmacists, and paramedics.
  • Broader Services: New and improved patient services, ensuring you receive the right care at the right time.
  • Convenience and Flexibility: A shared phone and online system will improve your ability to contact the practice, while our extended opening hours remain the same or improve.
  • Continuity of Care: By combining resources and expertise, we aim to ensure you continue to see familiar faces while benefiting from the strength and resilience of a larger, unified team.

What Will Stay the Same

  • Both current sites will remain open and continue serving the community.
  • Non-digital access methods will still be available for patients who prefer them.
  • Your patient confidentiality remains a top priority, protected by robust protocols.

Why We’re Making This Change

The healthcare landscape is changing, and this merger will help us address immediate challenges while laying the groundwork for a sustainable future. We’re confident this approach will allow us to harmonise services, standardise processes, and share best practices to benefit all our patients.
